'An idyllic setting. Wonderful warm atmosphere, a beautiful room - made us feel so relaxed. I came back within 3 weeks of my first stay and I can see it being a permanent fixture on my holiday calendar!’ ~ Rachel, South London.

We are a family run organic farmhouse bed and breakfast offering the best in 'getting away from it all comfort'. Ty Mynydd offers a relaxed friendly family home where guests are left to their own devices in peaceful seclusion.

We are perched on the side of Hay Bluff in the beautiful Black Mountains in the Marches of Wales. From this situation we enjoy panoramic views over the Wye Valley and Black Mountains as far as the eye can see. The view here is, quite simply, breathtaking.

T
he mountains surround us in close proximity offering a dramatic, often changeable aura to the atmosphere here at Ty Mynydd (which is Welsh for 'Mountain House') and good walking territory is on the doorstep.

Although Ty Mynydd is secluded, the town of Hay on Wye is only six miles away. With second-hand book shops galore and the Annual Festival of Literature in May it is a lovely way to pass a day or two or three or four! Llanthony Valley and the Priory are approx 2 miles away over the beautiful Gospel Pass. The town of Brecon which hosts an annual jazz festival in August is approx 10 miles away.

Please see our gallery for more photographs of Ty Mynydd and the valley.
